As a coach I know how key creating good mind-set is for us all and how it requires consistent work and can’t be a one off experience.
I am as guilty as anyone, as soon as the going gets tough this is sometimes the first thing that gets de-prioritised, yet I know that it is key and can change lives. In fact, when the going gets tough this is when we should amp up our mind-set work and allow it to transform our thinking and ultimately our lives
With a few simple mind-set tools you can transform your life along with the way you think and interact with the world around you. Now I’ve become pretty consistent with my mind-set practice and lately have been inspired by my very best friend.
One of the tools we use every day is gratitude. Each evening we text each other and let the other know what the best part of her day was. Sometimes we are grateful for the big things that have happened and others are small every day occurrences that mean something to us. Whether that be feeling part of a work tribe, free coffee every morning from Waitrose, a smile from a stranger.
What this is doing in the simplest terms is making us recall the events of our day and enabling our minds to search through the day for all the positive things that have happened before settling on the one that means the most to us.
When we do this it changes our state of mind and immediately makes us feel better and grateful for what we have. We are focusing on what we do have rather than what we don’t have.
The more you do it the more you will start noticing the brilliance in your everyday life. Gabby Bernstein calls these our “miracle moments”
So what were your “miracle moments” from this week and how did they make you feel?
Who can you start your daily gratitude practice with?
- Coz it’s fun to do it with someone else
- Coz it keeps us accountable and continually searching for what’s good and right in front of us that we might usually miss in our busy lives
