Your desires are always created twice
In years past I used to set New Years Resolutions only to break them by February and beat myself up constantly for not changing. I had great expectations and commitment to changing for my habits and would be raring to go, only to have life take over and for me to revert back to my old ways within a matter of weeks.
I was determined to crack it though and I spent years trying different methods so that when the New Year came around it would be “different” You know what’s coming next right…. It never was different until I realised that I was tring too hard.
I wasn’t really starting from what I actually wanted and feeling in to it. This is when I decided to listen to what my heart and body were telling me and that is when I noticed changes beginning to stick really easily. A great way I have found which works for me is putting some time aside to explore my desires.
Desires in this case could be anything you want to do, be or have. I did this powerful exercise this past week because I felt like doing it not because I had to do it on the 1st January and get started with a plan or my resolution.
I think often we do something because we feel like everyone else is doing it, or we are afraid to be left behind or miss out. It is not neccesrily something that we want to do but we do it anyway in case we are judged.
When you stop and listen to your intuition and what your body is telling you this creates space for more joy and happiness to come in. So that being said I sat down, lit a candle, put on some soft music and wrote everything I desired for this year. It ended up being 7 pages and it was things such as:
Have all my credit cards paid off in full.
A new iPad.
A beautiful trip to Italy for a cooking and wine tasting course surrounded by my family and friends.
Be fulfilled in my work.
Receive all I desire effortlessly because it is meant for me.
Enjoy running long distances because it makes me feel good.
Have a massage once a month.
Turn my Brilliant Confidence course into an online course.
Travel to Brazil and Peru and visit Machu Picchu.
Feel confident whilst delivering my training workshops.
Buy a 2 bedroom flat.
I wrote everything down, what I wanted, how I desired to feel, who I desired to show up as in each area of my life – health, relationships, wealth, career, business.
And you know what, it was so much fun and it made me smile several times. Alot of things came out that I didn’t even realise I wanted. Even if I feel some of my desires are impossible I wrote them down anyway and the secret sauce is to keep revisting and re-reading your desires. Why? Because the mind then goes to work on how to achieve them.
See everything in the world is created twice, once in your imagination and a second time in your reality.
Think about it, when you for example got married, you visualised it all in your mind first and it then came into being in your physical reality. Our minds are so powerful so think about what you desire and then get to work on visualising it.
